Geography

With over 700 ft. of water front, The Birches Cottage Resort offers excellent access to the crystal clean water of Lake Joseph. Just 2 Hrs up HWY 400 from Toronto, Lake Joseph is the most northern of the big three Muskoka Lakes. Reaching depths of over 300 ft. and riddled with islands, fishing is great for Lake Trout, and Small Mouth Bass. The beach area is roped off, safe and sandy bottom. We have a boat launch and plenty of docking. Limited indoor docking is available at an additional charge. Boat rentals are available for those without their own (14' 8 hp). Some of the towns within boating distance from where we are at Gordon Bay include: Port Sanfield, Rosseau, Port Carling, Bala, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst.

Only a 5 minute drive to the town of Mactier, The Birches is located one hr. north of Barrie, Ont. and 20 mins. south of Parry Sound Ont. on HWY 69
